Our running replica of a First World War German A7V tank is built to represent 'Schnuck' - captured on this day in 1918. After capture, Schnuck was displayed at the Imperial War Museum until 1922, when it was scrapped. Only the gun has survived. Like later German tank designs, the A7V was far more mechanically sophisticated than British machines of the time.
