It really hasn’t felt like winter in Texas lately, but that will change in a big way starting this weekend with snow possible in parts of the Lone Star State.
Isolated severe storms are possible late Wednesday through Friday, with large hail, strong winds and an isolated tornado possible.
Texas has seen a dry and warm start to 2026, but the winds of change may blow in pretty soon. While the state will endure another several days of warmer-than-usual temperatures, forecasters say precipitation and even cooler weather are possible later in the week.

Texas sets new weather record
A new weather record was set in Texas this week, according to meteorologists. In a Tuesday post on X, the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast office for the Austin and San Antonio area said the daily record high temperature at Del Rio International airport was broken with a reading of 84 degrees Fahrenheit.
